WARREN, VT (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) – One woman is dead after a fatal skiing accident at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont Saturday.
At around 10:50 a.m., a 19-year-old woman was skiing with family and friends on the Lower Rim Run Trail when she lost control at the intersection with the Lower FIS Trail, officials say. She traveled off the right side of the trail and hit a trail sign.
Ski patrol and emergency responders provided medical treatment for the woman until she was transported to the hospital. She died as a result of her injuries.
On Sunday, Vermont State Police identified the woman as Kendra Bowers, a Rhode Island native who was a sophomore at the University of Vermont.
