BOSTON — If you were taking the T Tuesday morning and you needed to put money on a Charlie ticket or Charlie card, the MBTA says stations were only able to process cash transactions.
A spokesperson for the MBTA said the company was made aware of the issue around 9:40 a.m. and had the problem fixed early in the afternoon.
The machines at the stations were unable to process credit or debit cards Tuesday, but the MBTA said all retails sales locations were still able to accept cards.
"Personnel are working diligently to correct a problem with the system's credit card servers," MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo said. "Customers can use cash at fare vending machines, and many of the busiest subway stations have ATMs."
