BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Two Brockton men are facing charges for their alleged connection to the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Lonnie Robinson.
Police responded to 63 Perkins Street in Brockton shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Friday to find Robinson slumped over in the driver's seat of a Chevy Impala parked in the driveway. Robinson suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators allege that 24-year-old Jerome Almonor and 28-year-old Dominic Tassy pulled into the driveway behind the Impala that Robinson was sitting in and entered the apartment building at 63 Perkins Street. Almonor reportedly exited the apartment a short time later armed with a shotgun. Police claim Tassy exited the building with him.
Almonor approached the driver's side of the Impala and an argument ensued. It is at that time police accuse Almonor of pulling the shotgun from his pants and shooting Robinson in the chest before fleeing with Tassy.
Almonor is charged with murder, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, unlawful possession of ammunition and assault with a dangerous weapon. Tassy is charged with being an accessory to murder.
The shooting remains under investigation. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Brockton District Court.
