CHESHIRE, Ct. — A single ticket sold at a convenience store in Cheshire, Connecticut, matched the $183.5 million Powerball jackpot numbers drawn Monday night, the state’s lottery officials confirmed during a Tuesday news conference.

Connecticut Lottery officials have not yet identified the holder of the winning ticket but confirmed that it was sold at a One Stop on South Main Street.

“Everybody goes there, it’s like a family atmosphere,” Bob Leonard, owner of Seems Like Yesterday antique shop, told WFSB. “Regulars going every day. It’s wicked exciting, right here in Cheshire, who would’ve thought?”

The winning numbers were 16, 25, 27, 49, 55, and a Powerball of 17. The Power Play was 3X.

According to Powerball, the odds of winning any prize in its game are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of snagging the jackpot are one in 292.2 million.

Should the winning ticket holder opt for the lump-sum payout, that’s a cool $123.9 million.

Meanwhile, the store that sold the winning ticket will receive $100,000.

Monday’s drawing marks the second time the Powerball jackpot has been hit in 2022, with two tickets sold in California and Wisconsin split a $632.6 million jacpkot – the seventh-largest in the game’s history – on Jan. 5.

According to lottery officials, more than 378,000 tickets won prizes in Monday night’s drawing, including a ticket sold in Michigan that matched all five white balls to win $1 million.
