Who you gonna call? Josh Gad reunites ‘Ghostbusters’ cast for ‘Reunited Apart’

Josh Gad is once again taking fans back to the ’80s for his “Reunited Apart” YouTube series.

This time, the original “Ghostbusters” came together to reminisce about the classic comedy.

Gad was joined by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, director Ivan Reitman and his son, Jason Reitman. The younger Reitman wrote and directed the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife." The new sequel is scheduled to hit theaters next year, but a trailer has already been released. Most of the cast will return for the newest sequel, except for Harold Ramis, who died in 2014, the “Today” show reported.

The cast reminisced about Ramis, who helped write the classic film.

Rick Moranis was also absent. He had stepped away from acting after hits like “Ghostbusters” and “Spaceballs” to raise his children but still provided voices for animated films. He recently announced that he will be joining a new sequel to “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” for Disney. Gad is also slated to appear in the film as Moranis’ son, Deadline reported earlier this year.

As the cast went around the virtual table sharing what’s been happening while in quarantine, Potts said she’s made about 300 masks that she’s been selling to raise money for charity.

The show not only helps us go back to the better days, Gad uses it as a platform to raise money for charity. The latest episode is raising money for Support Equal Justice Initiative. Gad wrote of the group, “EJI is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the U.S., to challenging racial and economic justice, and to protecting the most basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.”

This isn’t the first cast Gad has virtually reunited. He also worked to bring together the casts of “The Goonies,” “Back to the Future” and “The Lord of the Rings.”
