Omar Barrera, 33, of Pharr, was charged with one count of invasive visual recording, according to Hidalgo County online booking records.

According to police, the woman found the cellphone on Aug. 11. The device was covered with masking tape in the bathroom of a McAllen business, the Brownsville Herald reported.

The woman realized the cellphone was unlocked because it was still recording, so she went through the device and discovered the video, the television station reported. She then called McAllen police.

“(She) stated as she was going through the cell phone she observed for the cell phone to have several videos and images of her in the bathroom from the past couple of days,” according to a probable cause affidavit.

According to the Herald, the woman told police she confronted Barrera because he was the only other employee that uses that bathroom.

“(She) stated Mr. Barrera admitted to the cellphone being his and confirmed it by him being able to unlock the cell phone using a touch screen pattern,” the probable cause affidavit states.

Authorities booked Barrera into the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on Thursday.

He bailed out on an $8,000 bond Friday, according to online court records.
