Marilyn Manson dumped by record label amid abuse allegations by ex Evan Rachel Wood, others

Loma Vista Recordings severed ties Monday with performer Marilyn Manson, just hours after the “Sweet Dreams” artist was named publicly by actress and singer Evan Rachel Wood as the previously unidentified source of the sexual and physical violence she has suffered.

According to Variety, Manson has released three albums through the label since 2015, including 2020′s “We Are Chaos,” but his artist page vanished from the label’s website Monday afternoon.

Variety also clarified that Manson was not signed directly to Loma Vista but rather retains the rights to his recordings and, beginning with 2015′s “The Pale Emperor,” licensed them to the label.

Wood has spoken over the years about being a survivor of domestic violence and often alluded to Manson in those statements but never identified the singer to whom she was briefly engaged as her abuser until Monday’s Instagram post.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood wrote in the post, accusing Manson of “grooming” her beginning when she was a teenager before “horrifically” abusing her for years.

Manson responded to the allegations in his own Instagram post on Monday night, accusing his accusers of “misrepresenting the past.”

Wood, 33, made her relationship with Manson public in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 38, The New York Times reported.

The Golden Globe-nominated “Westworld” actress has since become an outspoken advocate for rape and domestic violence survivors, drafting the Phoenix Act, which extends the statute of limitations on domestic violence from three to five years, in 2019.

According to Variety, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill into law in October of that year, and it took effect the following January.

Meanwhile, Wood testified before the California Senate in support of the Survivor’s Bill of Rights, saying that her abuser had hidden his drug and alcohol addiction from her and “had bouts of extreme jealousy, which would often result in him wrecking our home, cornering me in a room, and threatening me,” the outlet reported.

Manson responded to Wood’s testimony by issuing a statement through his representatives to music magazine Metal Hammer, stating it would be “inappropriate” to comment on “personal testimony,” the Times reported.

Meanwhile, several other women have accused Manson of having abused them, including actress Charlyne Yi, who leveled the allegations via Twitter in 2018 in a string of since-deleted tweets, the outlet reported.
