GRESHAM, Ore. — At least seven people are recovering from injuries after gunfire erupted at a vigil for an Oregon shooting victim, authorities said.

According to KPTV and KGW, the incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Southeast 174th Avenue and Southeast Start Street in Gresham. People were paying tribute to a man who had died there the day before, 22-year-old Alejandro Barajas, when a dark SUV drove past, the news outlets reported. The vehicle and crowd then exchanged fire, Gresham police said.
Police arrived to find seven shooting victims, who are being treated at nearby hospitals, according to KPTV. Police said everyone who was hurt is expected to recover, the news outlet reported.

Authorities are still searching for the vehicle, which fled the scene, KPTV reported. Police have not made any arrests in connection with the vigil shooting or Barajas’ death, according to the news outlet.
