LOS ANGELES — As the stars get ready to hit the red carpet for the 2016 Oscars, others are using #oscarssowhite to continue to speak out on Twitter.
The hashtag comes from frustration over the lack of diversity in Oscar nominees each year.
Bette Midler in particular made a pointed tweet about the event Sunday night, drawing in the buzz that Leonardo DiCaprio may finally take home an Oscar.
The Oscars are today! You know, the awards show where Leonardo DiCaprio is "overdue" but black people can "wait till next year."

Disney's "Girl Meets World" star Rowan Blanchard also tweeted displeasure about the award show.
can't wait 2 see white actors tomorrow complain about #OscarsSoWhite while also having production companies that aren't making diverse films

And Shonda Rhimes, creator of ABC hits "Scandal," "Grey's Anatomy" and "How To Get Away With Murder" tweeted this:
Know why I hate "why is diversity so important" question? It implies matter should be UP FOR DEBATE. As if LACK of diversity could be valid.

Rev. Al Sharpton is not stopping at Twitter. He is hosting a rally boycotting the show.
