Tewksbury Police arrest man for flipping pool table, injuring woman

TWEKSBURY, Mass. — Police in Tewksbury arrested a man on Saturday morning after he flipped a pool table onto a woman, breaking both of her legs.

Justin Denorscia, 21, of Wilmington, was charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, vandalizing property and disorderly conduct after he allegedly flipped a pool table at Maverick's Restaurant and broke a woman's legs.

Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan said Denorscia allegedly arrived at the restaurant around midnight and was asked to leave by the bartender and a cook. The bartender said Denorscia knew he wasn't welcome in the restaurant and had been asked to leave on at least 10 occasions in the past.

According to the bartender, Denorscia left but came running back 10 to 15 minutes later through the back door and allegedly flipped a pool table, causing it to land on a 23-year-old Billerica woman, crushing her legs.

He then took off running, but was caught and held by bar patrons until police arrived.

The woman, who sustained serious injuries to both legs and an ankle, was transported to an area hospital.

After his arrest and booking, Denorscia was served a notice of trespass by a restaurant employee.

He was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Monday and later released on personal recognizance.

According to police, this isn't the first time Denorscia has been in alcohol-related trouble.
