WAREHAM, Mass. — A teenager was hospitalized in serious condition after a police chase in Wareham early Saturday morning.
Police ended up calling off the chase right before finding the car wrecked on county road.
The injured 17-year-old was driving the car, according to police.
Police say the pursuit started around 4:30 a.m. when someone reported they were hit by an erratic driver.
When police responded, they say the car sped by with no headlights on.
Police said after they called off the chase the car skidded off the road and hit trees.
The teen, from Wareham, was found lying in the road. Police say he may have been driving with a suspended license.
Police are investigating the incident.
