Hanover elementary school teacher dies suddenly after 'brief illness'

HANOVER, Mass. — The Hanover school community is mourning the death of a teacher.

Hanover Superintendent Matthew Ferron sent out a letter Thursday morning saying Courtney Neville passed away after a sudden and brief illness.

Ferron says Neville was a speech and language pathologist who worked at both of the town's elementary schools.

"Courtney dedicated her professional life so that children could share their words, thoughts, and feelings without fear and with the confidence and clarity to challenge the future and live the life of their dreams. Her passing is an immeasurable loss for all of us. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family, friends, colleagues, and students," Ferron said in the letter.

It's unclear what the illness was that caused Neville's death.
