String of auto body shop break-ins concerns owners

WORCESTER, Mass. - Two recent separate break-ins at auto body shops in Framingham and Worcester are concerning their respective owners.

Carlos Campos' auto body shop was broken into on Sunday, July 15. Campos says he lost more than thirty-thousand dollars worth of tools, rims, a couple guitars and a motorcycle.

The thief also made out with Campos' Ford F-250, which he used to haul all the stolen items.

"He did whatever he wanted to do," said Campos. "I want to see them catch this guy and put him in jail."

One of the stolen items, the motorcycle, later turned up all the way in Worcester.

Not even a week later, on Friday night, a building which houses three Worcester auto businesses was targeted by thieves.

"They trashed the whole place," said Mario Borci, the owner of one of the targeted shops. "

Borci says the thief got away with $30,000 worth of tools and two cars.

"And they tried to take the car in the middle stall but they couldn't get it out because there was a truck in front of it and they didn't have the keys for it," said Borci. "They left the car running, they left with the car running."

Earlier this month, a thief was caught on camera while he attempted to break in to the same building by removing an air conditioner.

Interestingly, whoever robbed Campos' auto shop gained access by removing an air conditioner.

"Disheartening, you know what I mean?" said Borci. "That's about all I can say, that's how I feel."

Police are actively investigating these thefts and searching for suspects.
