BOSTON — Police are investigating a shooting in the area of Bowdoin Street in Dorchester that sent one man to the hospital.
The shooting victim was inside the building when the shots were fired outside and hit him around 3 p.m.
Faru Reza works at a store next to where the shooting occurred. He said several people ran inside for safety.
“I get the sound maybe 4 or 5 times, the shoot, shoot. People run here run there,” he said. “I see people running outside on the road. Then people came here hiding because they’re scared.”
The bullets hit an educational facility used by College Bound at 22 Bowdoin St.
"We don't have any information about how or why the shooting occurred. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved,” Senior Vice President at College Bound Dorchester Michelle Caldeira said.
The victim is expected to survive.
