Shelter-in-place lifted in Claremont, NH after standoff

Police were called to an Alabama mall after reports of gunshots Thursday night.

CLAREMONT, N.H. — State Police in New Hampshire are asked residents in Claremont to stay indoors due to an ongoing incident Thursday morning.

A shelter-in-place had been ordered for those near Hanover, Barnes and North streets until further notice.

Police responded to shots fired in Claremont just before 6 a.m. Police had massed in front of the house and the New Hampshire State Police SWAT team was on the scene. Several streets were also barricaded off. Residents in the neighborhood around Hanover and Centennial streets were asked to shelter in place around 7:54 a.m.

The situation was resolved and one person was taken into custody.
