PROVIDENCE, R.I. — PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Islanders are paying a penny less for a gallon of gasoline this week.
AAA Northeast said Tuesday that the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular gas in the state has dropped 1 cent in the past week to $2.49.
Rhode Island's price is 15 cents lower than the national average of $2.64, and 35 cents less than the Ocean State price one year ago.
A spokesman for AAA says gas prices are expected to keep dropping nationally barring any major industry or geopolitical events.
AAA found self-serve selling for as low as $2.35 per gallon to as high as $2.69.
