Restaurant destroyed by fire in Chelsea

CHELSEA, Mass. — Firefighters worked overnight to put out a fire at a restaurant in Chelsea.

The two-alarm fire broke out just after midnight at the Pollo Campero restaurant at 115 Park Street. Heavy fire and smoke were showing from the rear of the building when firefighters arrived.

Chelsea Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Ulwick said firefighters ran into some issues as they tried to battle the fire. There was a delay getting into the building due to metal doors and some water issues, he said. Firefighters were pulled out after about 30 minutes and battled it from the outside.

No one was inside the building when the fire broke out. The cause is under investigation but Ulwick said it's a total loss.
