Relief fund for Merrimack Valley residents now open for applications

People affected by the Merrimack Valley gas explosions will able to apply for funds starting Wednesday from the Greater Lawrence Disaster Relief Fund.

Those affected can apply online, by phone, or at three drop-off locations starting Oct. 3.

The $10.8-million fund will help provide housing assistance, transportation needs, small business loans, health care support and food security needs.

New restoration maps

The towns of Andover, North Andover and Lawrence have released new maps that show street-by-street when Columbia Gas is scheduled to start working on the restoration of gas service. Homes and businesses are expected to have gas service restored by Nov. 19.
