Quincy police asking for help identifying suspect after 2 robberies

QUINCY, Mass. — Police in Quincy are asking for help identifying a man they believe is responsible for at least two recent robberies.

One of the robberies was at Prestige Gas on Franklin Street. The clerk was a 43-year-old mother of three who said she’s now living in fear.

“I did what I was trained to do. Keep a good eye on him,” Barbara, who asked to only be identified by her first name, said.

In surveillance footage, you can hear the suspect say “give me your cash” as he keeps on of his hands in his pocket holding what authorities believe is a weapon.

“I’m a single mom. I have two kids left at home. I work like crazy to take care of them,” Barbara said.

On Sunday night, police believe the same armed suspect robbed a female clerk behind the counter of the Lucky Shamrock on Beale Street.

“It's a lovely area around here, mostly a lot of Irish people. We all come in here to buy provisions from Ireland. I can't believe someone would do that,” customer Phillip Costello said.

Quincy police said they believe the suspect is targeting women. The suspect appears to have a large leg tattoo on his shin.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Monteith at 617-745-5767 or wmonteith@quincyma.gov.
