Police: Student charged with threatening to "shoot up" school

SEABROOK, N.H. — A Seabrook Middle School student has been charged after police said the teen threatened to “shoot up” the school.

Police have worked closely with school administrators to investigate the threat, which was first reported on Friday.

As the result of their investigation, a 14-year-old student has been charged with one count of criminal threatening.

The investigation is still ongoing, but police feel confident at no time were students or staff in any danger.

“The Seabrook Police will investigate any threats against the School, students or faculty with the utmost priority,” Acting Police Chief Brett Walker said. “This investigation shows the importance of ‘see something, say something.’ We are extremely proud of the witnesses for coming forward to report this and ensure that the school and the police were able to address the issue immediately.”

The student will appear at Portsmouth District Court at a later date.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Seabrook Police at 603-474-5200.
