WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Officials are investigating after a 40-year-old man drowned on Thursday night in an indoor pool at the Bayside Resort Hotel.
Police responded just before 5:30 a.m. to reports of a possible drowning. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a group of guests tending to an individual they say they had pulled out of the pool. Paramedics tried to revive the victim at the scene using CPR. The man was then transported to Cape Cad Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was later identified as Thomas Flynn of Medford. Officials say Flynn had been a guest of the resort since Dec. 2 and had been in the pool area alone.
An investigation into the drowning is being handled by the Cape and Island's DA's office.
Back in August, a nine-year-old girl from New York drowned at this same pool.
