Police arrest armed robbery suspect after wild police chase in Revere

REVERE, Mass. — A man who police say was involved in an armed robbery and police chase in Revere has been captured.

The suspect, 42-year-old Gianni Mazza, of Peabody, was arrested after police spotted him behind an oil company on Route 1A in Revere.

The arrest was made hours after police said Mazza fled down a dead-end street in a white van, and then crashed through a fence and ended up partially submerged in a homeowner’s pool.

Police said Mazza was wanted for allegedly committing an armed robbery in Everett Tuesday night and fleeing the scene in the van.

After Mazza was arrested he was taken from state police in Revere to Whidden Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation.

Mazza is expected to appear in court in Malden Wednesday morning, and he faces several charges including armed robbery.
