SHREWSBURY, Mass. — A woman was hit and killed by a car in Shrewsbury Monday evening and police say the car left the scene of the crash.
Police say after hitting the woman on Municipal Drive near Grafton Street, the vehicle, described by witnesses as a light gray or silver pickup truck with an extended cab and black rims, took off.
Alma Cico, 59, was taken to UMass Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police say the vehicle also has a dent in the upper right hand side of the tailgate.

According to police, Cico was crossing municipal drive shortly before 5 p.m. when she was hit by the pickup truck, which continued onto Route 140 southbound.
