FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. — A bald eagle that became lodged in the grill of a car that hit it Saturday in Fleming Island, Florida, is expected to recover.
With the assistance of the Clay County Sheriff's Office and Clay Fire Rescue personnel, the eagle was pulled out and taken to Bird Emergency Aid Kare Sanctuary.

The rescue organization said the eagle, which it has named Matthew, after the recent storm, is eating and alert. Nothing appears to be broken. Matthew enjoys getting up on a perch. Matthew will be held for observation before being released.
