Man suffers serious injuries after being struck by train in Wareham

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

WAREHAM, Mass. — A 41-year-old man was struck by a commuter rail train in Wareham on Saturday, according to the MBTA Transit Police.

According to a preliminary investigation by Transit Police, the man was hit around 8:30 p.m. while trespassing on the right of way of an outbound Lakeville Line train.

The Wareham man, who police did not immediately identify publicly, suffered severe injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, then moved to a Boston hospital.

The accident is currently under investigation.
