WALPOLE, Mass. — Route 1 southbound in Walpole was closed for more than an hour after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
The crash happened about 1 mile south of the Walpole Mall.

Police said the victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking in the breakdown lane when she was hit. She was flown to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
