FOXBOROUGH — Former Patriots quarterback Vito Parilli has died at the age of 87, according to the team.
Parilli was a member of the 1960s all-decade team and was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
The Rochester, Pennsylvania native played in 94 games for the Patriots between 1961 and 1967. He threw for over 20,000 yards and was voted to three AFL All-Star games.
Parilli is fourth on the list of all-time career passing yards for the Patriots.
Babe Parilli was sometimes known as “Gold Finger” and played for the University of Kentucky under Bear Bryant before playing for the Packers, the Browns, the Raiders and the Jets. In 1982, he was inducted into the college football hall of fame.
