Pats fan catches Gronk hoodie at Super Bowl parade

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A hoodie carefully packed away inside Ralph Laveille's back pack is not just a piece of clothing, but what he calls the souvenir of a lifetime.

It isn't just any sweatshirt, it's the training jersey for a New England Patriot and Ralph's favorite player, Rob Gronkowski.

“Gronk is the man,” he said.

The proof is inside the collar where you can find the number, Gronk's number, 87. Ralph was at the right place at the right time during the Patriots Super Bowl Parade in Boston Wednesday.

“We noticed Gronk, who took off his hoodie, who looked at us and threw it at the crowd,” Ralph said.

While watching the parade in Copley Square, Ralph got the most air.

“I was the one who jumped the highest and grabbed it," he said.

Ralph says his basketball skills came in handy, though he likes to think of this catch in football terms.

“It felt like catching a pass from Tom Brady in the end zone," he said, while laughing. "So, it's pretty special to me.”

His entire family, all Pats fans, think it's pretty special, but before he frames the hoodie Ralph has a special request for Gronk.

“Gronk, wherever you are, I jumped really high to catch that jersey. I hope you don't disappoint me and hopefully someday we can meet up and you can sign it for me," he said.
