Parents of boy who died in babysitter's care: 'Your whole world stops'

WOBURN, Mass. — For the first time since their 15 month was found unresponsive in the care of a babysitter, a Woburn couple is speaking out about the investigation into his death.

The parents told FOX25 Investigative reporter Kerry Kavanaugh someone intentionally harmed their son, and now they want justice for baby Noah.

In this exclusive interview, Noah’s parents Lindsey Keane and Paul Larson said they were in court Friday when DCF determined it was safe for their other children to return home.

They say they hope they can begin to grieve as a family, but are speaking out to hopefully prevent another family from suffering another devastating loss.

"The snuggliest baby, he was just the sweetest. He was no stranger to a set of arms,” Keane said.

Keane says 15-month-old Noah was his happy, smiling self the morning of Aug. 15 when she dropped him and his twin sister, Emilia, at their babysitter’s Woburn apartment.

That afternoon the call came.

"Your whole world stops,” Keane told FOX25.

The sitter said Noah and Emilia were on the way to the hospital. Noah was unresponsive.

"My world just got crushed," Larson said. "You want to help him and I couldn't."

Doctors determined Noah had suffered traumatic injuries from which he would never recover.

"It hurts me knowing whoever did this has as much freedom as I do, but my son is gone,” Larson said.

The parents said they couldn't say much more about the investigation at this point.

To date, no one faces any charges in this case. The District Attorney has not said whether the case is even criminal.

Keane said it appears as if what happened to her son was done intentionally.

"That's what it looks like as of now, yes," she said. "This was with intent, with malice, yes."

Emilia was also injured, but the parents said they couldn't elaborate how. Police, the DA and DCF immediately began investigating.
