Norfolk man's child porn collection found by ex-girlfriend

WRENTHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A 33-year-old Norfolk man was arraigned on child pornography charges on Wednesday after his former girlfriend discovered numerous DVDs containing pornographic material in the home they shared.

Andrew Eckard pleaded not guilty in Wrentham District Court to six counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of drug possession.

Investigators say Eckard had broken up with his girlfriend, Shannon Anastos, over the weekend and left the couple's Millis apartment to live with his parents in Norfolk.

While Anastos was going through Eckard's things, she found 17 DVDs that contained pornographic material.

Anastos went to police because Eckard is the Station Manager and Executive Director of Norfolk Community Television.  NCTV is heavily involved in Norfolk Public Schools and has an office on school property.  Eckard is involved in television production programs for school-aged kids.

Police say six of the DVDs were of girls under the age of 12 performing sexual acts.

Eckard was given $5,000 bail and ordered to wear a GPS bracelet.  He is required to stay away from children until his pre-trial court date on August 1.

Eckard was also ordered to remain drug free because of his alleged possession of pills in this case and the two OUIs on his record.  He also has a history of assault and battery and witness intimidation on that record.
