Narraganset coach suspended for allegedly sending student inappropriate photos

A coach in the Narraganset Regional School District was suspended for allegedly sending inappropriate pictures to a student, according to the district's superintendent.

The superintendent sent a note to parents explaining one of their coaches was placed on leave on Tuesday, and was banned from all sporting events, practices and school property as they investigate the allegations.

"As a result of a complaint that was made to the Templeton Police Department alleging that an individual who serves as a coach for Narragansett had sent inappropriate content to a student, I immediately placed the individual on administrative leave," the note said.

Parents in Baldwinville say it's shocking and disheartening to hear someone who works closely with their children is accused of inappropriate behavior.

"I just hope that, if it's true, he's punished and this stops," one parent said. "Because enough's enough. It sounds like there is evidence, somehow. There is pictures or something."

The news left many looking for justice, if the allegations are true.

"It's absolutely wrong," a parent said. "It's illegal, it's immoral. So, hopefully we'll get some justice in this."

Narragansett High School senior Jake Brown said he heard about the incident on Friday.

"That's kind of disgusting, honestly," Brown said. "It's unprofessional, it just doesn't seem right."

Brown's mother spoke with Boston 25 News over the phone, upset about the news, as well.

"Very much so unsettling," Brown's mother said. "It's just going on too much nowadays, and it's happening now. It's hitting locally twice in a few months."

Meanwhile, parents are thankful a young victim spoke up.

"I'm also pleased that this young girl came forward and said, 'Hey, this isn't right,'" a parent said. "Look what happened.

No charges have been filed against the coach yet, but police said there is an active investigation happening at the moment.
