A woman accused of abusing her 12-year-old son has put in a request for better jail conditions.
Either she's got to have a reasonable bond amount she can pay, or she's got to have a bed and a shower at the jail," Ed Flint, Brandy Janyes' attorney, told the St. George News.
The woman is currently being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond. She is being kept at a facility where she is sleeping on a cot and doesn't have regular shower access, according to her attorney.
Jaynes allegedly abused and starved her child; he was found weighing only 30 pounds when he was taken to a local hospital.
Washington County Sheriff's Lt. David Crouse said photos of the boy reminded him of a World War II concentration camp victim. The boy was allegedly locked in a filthy, feces-covered bathroom by Jaynes' for more than a year and starved.
Flint said there's more to the story and Jaynes' is not the witch that the viral story made her out to be.
