WORCESTER, Mass. — A memorial honoring fallen firefighter Christopher Roy is set to be unveiled on Dec. 9, the anniversary of his death.
The memorial will be set up at the Webster Square Fire Station at 40 Webster at around 4:30 p.m. It was funded by the Kraft Family Foundation.

Roy, 36, passed away last year while battling an intentionally set fire at 7 Lowell Street in Worcester. He had been assigned to Ladder 4, Group 3 at the Webster Square Fire Station.

Speakers will include Robert Kraft, Worcester Fire Chief Michael Lavoie, Mayor Joseph Petty, Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito, Worcester City Manager Edward Augusts Jr. and City Councilor-at-large Katie Toomey.
