BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- As of noon on Thursday, the MBTA will begin providing real-time tracking of the above-ground Green Line trains.
All of the data will be fed through to the dozens of MBTA apps, allowing users to accurately track the trolley locations.
The tracking advancement is just the first phase of a multi-phase project that hopes to provide accurate, real-time data to the Green Line's 227,000 daily customers.
The next phase will include predicted arrival times of above-ground trains. Phase III, currently planned for early winter, will include predictions for subway trains.
