MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — Police are asking the public to help identify the person who posted anti-Semitic flyers at a Marblehead synagogue last week with newly released surveillance video.
The video shows a man captured walking up to the synagogue July 14 around 9:30 p.m. and allegedly posting the flyer, then taking a photo of it, according to police said.
The two anti-Semitic posters referred to the Holocaust as "fake news" and were found outside the entrance Temple Emanu-El the next morning.
Rabbi David Meyer tells The Daily Item that one flyer was placed on the temple's welcome sign adjacent to its front steps.
Meyer says while the posters are "distressing" he has been heartened by the response of the town's interfaith community, as well as law enforcement.
The fliers reference local groups that support a neo-Nazi website.
