Family and Friends pay respect for Cohasset Police officer after sudden death

COHASSET, Mass. — Loved ones are set to pay their respects to a Cohassett police officer who passed away after suffering from a heart attack last Friday.

A wake for Officer Mark Jenkins is set to take place at the McDonald / Keohane Funeral Home on Main Street in Weymouth on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Jenkins’ funeral is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Clare Parish in Liberty Street in Braintree.

Jenkins was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and worked as a police computer forensics expert for their department and the United States Coast Guard Investigative Service.

“Mark collapsed while with coworkers late Friday afternoon. CPR and life-saving measures were unsuccessful. We thank the City of Quincy emergency services and the staff of the Carney Hospital for their heroic efforts to save our beloved Mark,” said Chief William Quigley. “While our hearts are filled with sorrow, they are also filled with love, as we help Mark’s wife and children with final arrangements. Please say a prayer for the Jenkins family.”
