WILMINGTON, Mass. — A man died in Wilmington on Saturday from injuries sustained after being struck by a Commuter Rail train, according to a release from Transit Police.

Officers received the emergency call around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arriving at the scene, officials determined that the man, whose age is unknown, was trespassing on the right of way in the area of 790 Main St. before he was struck by an inbound Lowell line train.

No passengers were on board at the time. Wilmington Fire and EMS responded to the scene, as did a number of Transit Police Detective personnel. Those detectives are investigating the incident along with the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office.
