Police said a witness called 911 around 11:30 p.m. Sunday to alert police of a reckless driver on I-93 southbound in Concord. A trooper in the area attempted to stop vehicle, identified as a 2007 Toyota Tundra pickup truck with a New Hampshire plate, but the driver refused to stop, according to police. As the chase unfolded, police learned that the driver may have been involved in unrelated crimes prior to the chase.
Near Exit 5 on Route 3, the Nashua Police Department successfully deployed spike strips. The driver came to a stop on the Exit 3 off-bound ramp and was taken into custody. The driver was taken by officers to the hospital.
The driver was identified Monday morning as 27-year-old Nicholas Santy of Littleton. Santy was charged with reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest. He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday morning in Nashua District Court.
