MALDEN, Mass. — Malden Police are warning residents about a woman seen lurking into mailboxes.
A Facebook post from Wednesday, August 7, shows a picture of the woman and points out her bright green nail polish.
"We want you to continue to enjoy the sunny weather, but we assure you, you will not find the sun shining in a closed mailbox, we promise," said police.

Sgt. Michael Powell works for the Criminal Investigation Division of Malden police, and he says this behavior is common among people engaging in mail fraud.
"When we reviewed the video that we obtained, the pattern and behavior that we saw with this particular individual is consistent with what we believe is an individual targeting a home in an effort to obtain sensitive information relating to debit cards or credit cards," said Powell.
According to police, culprits who look in mailboxes sometimes fraudulently apply for new credit cards and wait for them to be delivered.
Sgt. Powell's division is working with postal investigators on this issue.
If you see suspicious activity involving mailboxes, you are advised to contact your local police department.
