According to the United States Geological Survey, a small earthquake rattled part of Massachusetts on Friday afternoon.

The magnitude 2.2 quake struck at approximately 12:51 p.m. and was centered just northeast of Templeton, Mass, in Worcester County.

Boston 25 News reached out to Dr. John Ebel, supervisor of operations at the Weston Observatory, who confirmed the quake.
Templeton Police said that it initially received "multiple calls about a possible explosion in the Templeton/Gardner area."
