LOWELL, Mass. — Two businesses in Lowell were held up at gunpoint just days apart, and one of the owners told Boston 25 News that was not an accident.
The owner of Fio’s Pizza says he was watching Boston 25 News when he first saw that a liquor store on Mammoth Road had been robbed.
When he saw the suspects from that robbery, he knew they looked familiar.
“I was watching Boston 25 and I saw the picture of the robbery in Lowell and I said ‘geez, those are the same people who hit me,” Dave, who asked to only be identified by his first name, said.
Following up on this tonight. Another biz owner says these three also held up his pizza joint just days earlier. And only @boston25 at 6:30 has his chilling surveillance video of the bad guys in action. https://t.co/7FHvfoqxDS

Dave shared surveillance video from inside his pizza shop showing the terrifying moments with Boston 25 News.
“Unfortunately, it’s the world we live in. It’s scary,” he said. “You just come to work, do your job and this happens.”

The three armed men burst through the back door and held the employees at gunpoint as they raided the business’s safe and cash register.
“Two out of the three were like crowd control. Third guy had a bag. He went into office and grabbed the money,” he said. “The guy in the middle had the blue jacket that looks like a corporate blue jacket. You know, three days later, same type of clothing, three people.”
Nearly 10 years ago, Dave’s Pizza Shop was robbed in a case that was never solved. He said he hopes this robbery is different.
“My hope is that if someone recognizes these guys, just call the police and drop a dime on them,” Dave said.
Boston 25 News reporter Jacob Long reached out to Lowell police about the similarities. Officers can’t say if the two robberies are related, but it’s something they’re going to be looking at very closely.
