Worker rescued from construction site in Wareham

WAREHAM, Mass. — A construction worker had to be rushed to the hospital by a medical helicopter Tuesday morning after being rescued following a fall at a construction site in Wareham.

The Wareham Fire Department got the call for help at 7:20 a.m. for a worker who had fallen some 25 feet below grade.

The worker was semi-conscious with “severe” injuries to his face, head, and legs.

There was also concern about hypothermia given the frigid conditions.

A technical rescued team had to be called in to help with the effort. The worker was taken via a medical helicopter to Boston.

The incident happened at the Wareham Water Pollution Control Facility.
