Whitman Police looking to find owner of Marine Corps ring found during Memorial Day parade

Whitman Police are looking to the public for help in finding the owner of a Marine Corps ring that was found during the town’s Memorial Day parade.

“We would love to reunite it with its owner,” police said of the large military ring in a statement on Facebook.

The department posted three photographs of the military ring on its Facebook page.

The ring has the words “United States Marine Corps” on the top.

On the side of the ring, there are the words and year “Iwo Jima 1945,” along with an image resembling the iconic photograph of six U.S. Marines raising the American flag atop Mount Suribachi during the World War II Battle of Iwo Jima.

Anyone who knows the owner of this ring is asked to call Whitman Police at 781-447-1212.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
