Two people transported to the hospital after falling through Shrewsbury pond while ice skating

SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Two people have been transported to the hospital after falling through ice at Dean Park Pond in Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury first responders were immediately dispatched to the area around 7:23 p.m.

Once on scene, the two individuals were seen skating towards the shoreline of the pond.

It was determined that the two individuals were ice-skating towards the middle of the pond when they fell through the ice.

The two skaters were transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
