Things to do in the Massachusetts area this weekend

Mass. — Looking for something to do this weekend that isn’t Taylor Swift related? Boston 25 has a few ideas for you.

Kite Festival on Revere Beach

Let’s go fly a kite on America’s oldest public beach! This Saturday is the 8th Annual Kite Festival on Revere Beach. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. across from Kelly’s roast beef. You can bring your own kites, or kids can decorate a kite at the beach to fly. Best of all, this event is free! For more information, click the link here.

Boston Harbor Islands Opening Day

Speaking of free, this Saturday you can celebrate Boston Harbor Islands opening day with a free trip to Spectacle or George’s Island! Tickets are first come, first served, and can be picked up at the Boston Harbor City Cruises Ferry Center at Long Wharf North beginning at 8:00 a.m. The first ferries start running around 10 a.m. Get there early, these tickets go quickly! Adults can get up to five tickets each. More here.

Bellingham Memorial Day Parade

And don’t rain on their parade! Bellingham is holding its Memorial Day Parade and ceremony this Sunday. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. at 160 Mechanic Street and will continue along RT 126 to Bellingham Center, where the ceremony at the town common will begin around 2 p.m. For more information on the parade route, click the link here.
