Suspect to be arraigned on assault to murder charges in double stabbing at Clark University

WORCESTER, Mass. — Two people were seriously injured in a stabbing at Clark University in Worcester after a fight broke out on Tuesday evening.

Knowledge Bethea, 18, of Worcester, is slated to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of two counts of armed assault to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Worcester Police Department.

Clark police officers and Worcester police officers were called to the basketball court inside the Clark University gym on Downing Street for a report of a double stabbing just before 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found two male victims, ages 17 and 23, suffering from serious stab wounds. They were rushed to an area hospital.

Police arrested Bethea, who was determined to be the suspect in the stabbings, according to investigators.

Police noted that neither the victims nor Bethea is affiliated with Clark University.

An investigation remains active and ongoing.
