GLEN, N.H. — A beloved children’s theme park in New Hampshire is going 100% cashless.

Story Land in Glen says that effective on opening day on May 21, the park and neighboring aquarium will only accept credit, debit, and prepaid cards or secure mobile payments at it properties.

“We made the decision to become a cashless park to benefit our guests when they come to visit Story Land and Living Shores,” said Eric Dziedzic, General Manager. “We expect guests will experience shorter wait times at our food and retail locations thanks to this transition. We have also added several Cash to Card Kiosks throughout our properties to offer guests an easy, free way to convert their cash to a card.”

Story Land also said it believes the move will provide “a faster, safer, and more Guest-friendly experience.”

Story Land says that guests who prefer cash can use the new “Cash to Card Kiosks” inside the properties to convert up to $500 cash onto a prepaid card.

That card can then be used to purchase tickets and stores and stands at the park and aquarium.

“The cards can also be used free of fees outside the park anywhere Visa or MasterCard cards are accepted,” said Story Land in a statement.

Story Land is located in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. It has more than 200 rides, live shows, and nursery rhyme animals on its property. It’s been open for the last 65 years.

Boston’s Fenway Park recently made a similar move.
