Police investigate deadly crash involving a pedestrian in Dedham

DEDHAM, Mass. — The Dedham Police Department along with Mass State Police are investigating a fatal crash that left one woman dead on Monday evening.

At 5:30 p.m. Dedham Central Dispatch received phone calls reporting a pedestrian struck in the area of 204 Bridge Street in Dedham, according to officials.

According to officials, the responding officers, along with Dedham Fire Department and Medical aide located a severely injured female in the roadway.

The operator of the vehicle which struck this person also remained on the scene.

Officials said, the injured female was pronounced dead on the scene.

Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to assist in investigating the scene.

This incident remains under investigation in conjunction with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

There is no further information available at this time, according to officials.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
