Police arrest suspect in connection to North Attleboro murder

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. — A suspect was arrested Friday night in connection to a murder that happened at approximately 4:01 p.m. on High Street Wednesday afternoon in North Attleboro.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s office told Boston 25 Adam Walker, 33, of East Providence, RI, was arrested in Swansea for allegedly shooting Peter Schifone, 38, of North Attleboro.

When officers first arrived on scene Wednesday, they located Schifone inside his apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was later pronounced dead.

Walker was taken into custody by members of District Attorney Quinn’s Massachusetts State Police Unit, investigators with the North Attleboro Police Department, and Swansea Police. He is now facing charges of murder, carrying an illegal firearm, and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.

Walker is held in jail for the weekend and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at Attleboro District Court.

Boston 25 was told North Attleboro Police, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, and Homicide Unit prosecutors are continuing to investigate the homicide at this time.
