Norwood man hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by car

NORWOOD, Mass. — Police are investigating after a man was hit by a car in Norwood early Monday morning.

It happened on Washington Street at approximately 1:10 a.m. Norwood police said the 37-year-old Norwood man was crossing Washington St. when he was hit by a car.

Police said the driver, a 25-year-old Brockton woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. According to Norwood Fire Department dispatchers, paramedics on the scene rushed to perform life-saving actions when they arrived.

Boston 25 News crews on the scene saw police photographing a sedan with a shattered and dented windshield.

Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction teams were also investigating at the scene. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office is assisting with the investigation, which is standard policy in serious pedestrian crashes.
